Expresso Fashion

Expresso Fashion and Orange Babies have a great deal in common. Both organizations help women, want to inspire people and contribute to a better world in a respectful and creative way. Since 2007 Expresso Fashion supports the girlshome in our Hope Village project. The girlshome currently houses 24 girls.

Hyundai

Head sponsor of the World Cup, Hyundai has decided to support Orange Babies. Mike Belinfante of Hyundai on this decision:

The euphoria caused by the World Cup has subsided and for many South Africa is once again out of the picture. That is why we wanted to offer something structural and lasting. So providing a car for one of Orange Babies’ projects seems only logical. One can offer medication and knowledge but these things still need to be transported.

Greenib Car who imports Hyundai cars for The Netherlands, has put two cars at our disposal. One car for our Headquarters in Amsterdam and one for an Orange Babies project in Africa! In addition they will also donate the money needed for the summer and winter service to Orange Babies, which amounts to about € 30.000.

The car in South Africa will go to the Family Free project in the Limpopo province. Aimed at education about HIV/AIDS, this project covers a vast area. A car will therefore come in very useful, so it is an excelent choice! The car was presented during a working visit in South Africa.

Kruidvat

Since January 2010 the HivSa Milkbar Project in Johannesburg is sponsored by Kruidvat, a big Dutch drugstore chain. It is a baby formula program which was set up in co-ordination with HivSA, another non-profit organization.
The program is of vital importance because there is a great need for powdered baby formula. Thanks to medication the risk of mother-to-child infection during pregnancy can now be reduced by 50%. However, the child cannot be breastfed. Mothers participating in this project will receive a powdered baby formula free of charge for a year. Half of the money needed for this project is provided by the South African government, the other half is provided by Orange Babies.
The project helps approximately 300 babies a year, so Orange Babies is very happy with the Kruidvat initiative to contribute to this project on a structural basis.

Lidl

Lidl Nederland is the exclusive sponsor of the Orange Babies’ New Jerusalem Project. This co-operation arose from the World Cup Championship 2010 in South Africa. The country where the last World Cup was held also has a very different side. One in every 5 adults and 1 in every 4 children is infected with the HIV virus. That is why Lidl Nederland saw the World Cup kick off as the perfect opportunity to start a co-operation with Orange Babies. They have adopted the New Jerusalem Safety Centre for 3 years. The children staying in this orphanage have been neglected and abused and/ or cannot be cared for by family members because they are infected with the HIV virus. Recently a kindergarten was added to the orphanage which currently houses 96 children.

Lief!

Lief! Initiator Yvonne Woudstra has always wanted to help less fortunate babies and children in some way. So when Lief! started this dream became a reality. Together with Orange Babies Lief! has adopted the baby home of the Hope Village Project. In this house in Namibia 24 babies are looked after with lots of loving care. Of every Lief! Item which is sold, part of the proceeds go to this project.

M.A.C.

Each year M.A.C. Cosmetics launches a new lipstick for their ‘Viva Glam’ collection. Spokespersons for this collection are none other than Lady Gaga and Cindy Lauper! The entire proceeds go to the ‘M.A.C. AIDSfund’. Each year an organization or project whithin the Benelux is selected to receive part of the proceeds. And this year Orange Babies was the lucky one!

The money will go to the Family Free Project in South Africa. Family Free organizes education programs in several clinics in the Limpopo province, one of the poorest provinces in South Africa. The education programs are aimed at informing pregnant women about how to prevent mother-to-child HIV infection. Women are also encouraged to get tested for HIV, which is a significant hurdle to them. In addition to this there is also a special education program for children: through staging plays, playing music and dancing children are educated about HIV/AIDS.

Together with ambassadors Suzanne Kleman and Natasja Froger managing director and founder Baba Sylla has accepted a cheque in the amount of € 50,000 ! Baba is extremely happy with the support of M.A.C. Cosmetics and together with Orange Babies he will see tot it that this money is well-spent.

Nelson schoenen

Nelson has sponsored Orange Babies since June 2008. The boys’s orphanage of Hope Village in Windhoek, Namibia, for instance, is completely financed by Nelson. In addition to donating part of the proceeds of the children’s shoe line designed especially for Orange Babies the shop teams are also actively involved with Orange Babies; in the shops they draw the customer’s attention to the possibility of becoming a donor.
