Transit Home of Hope

Welcome to Jeannie Mulenga’s family

Jeannie Mulenga began taking HIV-positive children into her home a few years ago. Being an HIV-positive mother herself, she wanted to help children who were also infected. More and more children gradually came to the hom, an she named in the Transit Home of Hope.

Her daughter Annie helps her care for the 30 children. Because they are unable to work and run the Transit Home, she and her daughter receive assistance from Orange Babies and the foreign doctors who introduced this project to Orange Babies.

""The children who live here are like brothers and sisters to me. It is wonderful to care for them!"

Annie, caregiver at Transit Home of Hope

The children are considered part of the family and receive all the care they need. Medical care is provided by two doctors: Tim Meade from the United States and Helen Hayles from England.
