Sparrow Ministries

Unconditional love and care

There is a “tiny village” in Roodepoort with remarkable buildings. This is Sparrow Ministries, originally a home for abandoned and terminally ill adults and children. The residents receive medical, psychological, social or spiritual care.

"We can, thanks to Orange Babies, show children and adults that there is hope. HIV does not have to be the end. "

Corine Mc Clintock founder

Sparrow Ministries was founded in 1992 by Corine Mc Clintock and introduced to Orange Babies by charity Ambassador Carol Christensen. The name Sparrow is derived from a text in the Bible that is about however insignificant a life may seem, there is nevertheless always someone who watches over one.

Sparrow houses 100 adults and 250 children. In addition, Sparrow Ministries through a Home Based Care program assists a further 200 families.

Ever since 2006, Orange Babies committed itself to this project where 70 children can be provided with their daily care. The government does provide ARVs, but the need for other medications runs also high. Orange Babies also provides therefore for these additional medications.
