A nutritious meal for underprivileged children

Ileni Tulikwafeni literally means ‘let’s help each other’ and that is exactly what this project is about!

Just outside Okahandja in an old farmhouse, everyday breakfast and lunch are served to orphans and other underprivileged children from the neighbourhood.

"Ileni is a fabulous project because we're offering help to poor and underprivileged children in our community."

Kauna Anugula, oprichtster

This project, once started as a small catering stand from under a tree. At the time Mrs. Kauna Angula cooked for 90 children. Nowadays Ileni Tulikwafeni provides a meal to 460 children!

Children suffering from hypovitaminosis and seed-worm is very common. Children are examined every month and if necessary they are referred to a doctor for medical treatment & counselling.

The Ileni Tulikwafeni staff are all volunteer workers. Besides the project manager there are also two teachers and two people working in the kitchen.
