How do I become a donor?
You can become a donor here.
How much money do the ambassadors and board of Orange Babies earn?
The board and all ambassadors dedicate themselves to Orange Babies free of charge. You can read about this in the official annual report of Orange Babies.
How can I inform Orange Babies of a change in my contact information?
You can send us a letter with your old and new contact information (first name and surname, address, account number, email address and phone number) to Orange Babies, Herengracht 39, 1015 BB Amsterdam.
What percentage of my donation will actually go towards the cause itself?
Orange Babies works according to the CBF norm, which means that at least 75% of each Euro has to go towards the actual cause. Orange Babies aims at using at least 80% of each Euro for her projects in Africa. Your can read about this in the official annual report of Orange Babies.
How do I cancel my donorship?
You can send a letter to Orange Babies, Herengracht 39, 1015 BB Amsterdam. This letter needs to contain the following information: first name and surname, address, accountnumber, email address and phone number.
Can I cancel my donorship at any time?
Yes, you can cancel your donorship at any time.

What is Orange Babies?
Orange Babies is an independent foundation, which means we define our policy independent of the government, or indeed any company or individual. Orange Babies mainly helps HIV-infected pregnant women and their children in Africa. Our goal is to prevent HIV transmission from mother to baby. Furthermore we aim to improve the lives of the people by providing them with medication, food, shelter and education.
Volunteering in Africa
Do I have to arrange and pay for my own ticket?
Yes, you have to arrange and pay for your own ticket.
Do I need insurance and if so, will Orange Babies arrange my insurance for me?
We certainly recommend to get insured if you are going to volunteer in Africa. And no, Orange Babies will not arrange your insurance for you.
Do I get paid for the work I do in Africa?
No, unfortunately we cannot compensate you for your work, since all the money we receive goes to the projects in Africa.
Will Orange Babies arrange accomodation for me in Africa?
No, Orange Babies will not arrange accomodation, but we will put you in touch with the projects’ supervisors. They will be able to help you look for accomodation.
What projects can I volunteer for?
Have a look at the projects we support to decide which project you prefer, let us know and then we can determine whether it is possible for you to work there.
What duties / job will I get when I go to Africa?
There are several jobs to be done. The job you will do will for the most part depend on your education and/or the skills you possess. If for example, you are a medical student or if you are a doctor you can help us out in this particular area.
What are the requirements for volunteering in Africa?
You must be available for at least 6 months, you have to be at least 18 years old, you must be financially independent (so you will not run out of money while you are in Africa), you must possess good social skills and you must have a certificate of good moral character
Volunteering in The Netherlands
Will I get paid for the work I do for Orange Babies?
No, we do not compensate volunteers for the work they do. However, it is possible to receive compensation for your travel expenses. In this way we can use as much as possible from the funds we raised to support our women and children.
I cannot work on fixed days, will that be a problem?
No, basically it will not be a problem. Help is badly needed and very much appreciated.
Can I help out the Orange Babies’ office?

If I volunteer for Orange Babies will I be under contract?
No.
If I volunteer for Orange Babies, will it be for a definite period of time?
No, it is up to you how long and how often you can and want to work for Orange Babies.
Can I also help out at events?
Yes, you can also help out at events. For instance, we often need help when setting up for the event, receiving guests or when canvassing for donors.
